Microcredit has allowed millions of people in impoverished areas access to small loans to boost their family economies, people who otherwise would not have had access to loans from traditional banks. These microcredits are used as a tool for development, with the intention of reducing poverty and vulnerability of the most disadvantaged, empowering mainly women who are the engine of economic growth in the poorest countries, where 80% of the informal economy it's in their hands.
