The Center for Recovery and Nutrition Education (CREN) is located in Basse Santa Su region, one of the poorest rural areas of the Republic of Gambia. Built by Nutrition Without Borders in 2010 in order to treat children under five who suffer from severe child malnutrition and educate their mothers on nutrition and hygiene during their stay at the center. Educate women in nutrition and food hygiene together with their economic and social empowerment, can be one of the main pillars for the reduction of child malnutrition.
